Pacific Oscillating Desktop Fan sold at ASDA
Despite a rigorous product testing programme ASDA has found that a Pacific Oscillating Desktop fan previously on sale in their stores does not meet their high standards. It was sold between June and September 2002, and June and September 2003.
It has come to their attention that prolonged use of this fan could cause an electrical fault, leading to overheating and therefore a potential fire hazard.
Because of the small risk associated, ASDA has taken the decision to recall the product although there have been no reported incidents.
The code and description of the product is PACIFIC OSCILLATING DESKTOP FAN Model Number PDF 902-1
The model number can be found on the underneath of the base of the fan.
It is clearly marked 'Pacific' and any other fan sold in their stores with a different brand name, and bought since September 2003, is not affected.
No other products are involved in this recall. Customers should return this product to their local ASDA store for a full refund.
ASDA sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused.
